  • AsACC: AMP Mentor Applications Open

    Are you looking for a new and exciting way to get involved here at UConn?! Do you want to meet new people, explore your self-identity and various Asian American issues facing your community, all the while playing a vital role in ensuring that incoming first-year students successfully transition into their first year at UConn Storrs? The Asiantation Mentoring Program (AMP) is the right place for you!


    If you are considering applying, please consider the following requirements of being a Mentor for the 2018-2019 academic year:
    • Attend all mandatory events, including the Spring Retreat, Fall Retreat, Fall Asiantation, Mid-Year Mentor Conference, and Spring Asiantation 
    • Meet with each one of your mentees a minimum of 4 times a semester
    • Enroll in AASI 3998 (the AMP Class taught by the Director of the Asian American Cultural Center) for the Fall semester. Class for new mentors will meet once a week on Tuesdays from 6-9 P.M.
    • Attend one AsACC event, one AMP event, and one WRAAP event
    • Meet with a Coordinator at least once a semester
    • Meet with the AsACC Assistant at least once a semester
    • Maintain a G.P.A of 2.9 or higher

    DEADLINE TO APPLY TO BE A MENTOR IS FEBRUARY 26th AT 5PM. 

    **In addition, please stop by the Asian American Cultural Center (on the fourth floor of the Student Union) to sign up for an interview slot at the front desk! The last day to sign up for an interview is similarly FEBRUARY 26th at 5PM. Interviews will take begin once applications close, spanning from February 26th to March 9th.
