CONCERT: Voices of the Vietnam War: Music and Memories
The University of Connecticut’s Department of Music and the Office of Veterans Affairs and Military Programs are co-sponsoring a concert, “Voices of the Vietnam War: Music and Memories” to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Tet Offensive.
The concert features Earthtones, a vocal ensemble comprised of university students and community members, singing songs from the period along with narratives by Vietnam veterans. Veterans chose several of the legendary songs to be performed by artists including Peter, Paul, and Mary, The Animals, The Rolling Stones and more.
The concert will be held at 3:00 PM on December 2, 2017 at Von der Mehden Recital Hall on the
Storrs Campus, 875 Coventry Road, Storrs, CT 06269.
Admission is free. All are invited to a reception following the concert.
Doors open at 2:30 pm. Parking is free in the lot across from the Hall.
