  • 11/7 Master Class with Benny Golson, NEA Jazz Master

    88-year-old jazzman, Benny Golson will perform with and critique UConn jazz students, and speak about the golden age of jazz. Golson is the composer of numerous pieces which are considered jazz standards, including "Along Came Betty," "Killer Joe," "Stablemates" and "Whisper Not." The National Endowment for the Arts awarded Golson the NEA Jazz Masters Award in 1995. 

    Tuesday, November 7th.  7 - 9 p.m., at the Ballard Institute Theatre in Storrs Center.  Free/Open to the public.
