  • 11/13 Economics Lab Experiment - Volunteers Needed

Researchers from the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics are looking for volunteers to participate in computer-based experiments to be held on the following days:

Session 1: Nov 13 (Monday), from 4 pm to 6 pm in Room 304

Session 2: Nov 14 (Tuesday), from 5 pm to 7 pm in Room 306

Session 3: Nov 15 (Wednesday), from 4 pm to 6 pm in Room 304

Session 4: Nov 16 (Thursday), from 5 pm to 7 pm in Room 306

Session 5: Nov 17 (Friday), from 4 pm to 6 pm in 304

The experiment will run for about 1.5 hours. You will participate in a simulated market environment at computer terminals, seeking to earn as much money as possible over the course of the experiment. You will receive a $5 show-up fee and will earn additional money during the experiment. Your earnings during the experiment will translate to an amount of real payment that you get to take home with you. The better you do in the experiment, the more money you will take home. Typical earnings will be between $20 and $30, while the real earning can be lower or higher, depending on your individual performance. You will be paid in cash after the experiment. Experiment sessions will take place in the W.B. Young building, Room 304 and 306. Click here for the location of the building. This experiment is approved under IRB Exemption #X12-129 protocol.

Please reply to experimentuconn@gmail.com if you are interested in participating. VERY IMPORTANT: When you attempt to register for an experiment, your email must include your name and student ID, as well as the exact date and time slot you are attempting to sign up for.

Please include all sessions you are able to attend to maximize your chance of participation. Spots will be filled on a "first to reply" basis. You will receive an email confirming your spot in the experiment if you are selected. Thank you.
