Lorenzo Jones and Gabriel Sayegh, co-founders of Katal Center for Health, Equity and Justice, will make a public presentation on "Toward Justice:Reducing Harm and Protecting Health and Safety". This talk will look at how organizing grassroots and grasstops coalitions along with broad based advocacy and community organizing helped shift public will for systemic change and policy reform in Connecticut. They will focus in these policies: • Crack Powder Cocaine (2004-2005) • Medical Marijuana (2007) • Ban the Box (2008-2009)
The presentation will take place on November 14th, 4pm at Laurel Hall 201, followed by a dinner discussion in LH-302.
