Effective October 1, 2017, the U.S. Department of Education will decrease the origination fees on Federal Direct Loan Programs. Federal Direct Stafford Loans (Subsidized/Unsubsidized) will be assessed a 1.066% origination fee while Federal Direct PLUS Loans will be assessed a 4.264% origination fee. Loan applications not yet finalized (e.g. funds wired to the University) will be subject to the slightly lower origination fees as of October 1, 2017.
