  • Nominate for Excellence in Public Engagement

    The University community is invited to participate in the nomination process for the 2017 Provost’s Awards for Excellence in Public Engagement. Engaged Scholarship, Community Partnerships, Service Learning and other forms of Community-Based Learning combine to form Public Engagement; an essential component of the land-grant mission of the University of Connecticut. 

    This event and the awards are a celebration and recognition of the work of our faculty, staff and students who successfully integrate public engagement into their academic, research, service learning initiatives and service programs thereby maximizing the University’s impact on the communities with whom it engages by co-creating a culture of planetary well-being through civic action. 

    There are seven nomination categories which include:

    • Tenure-track faculty members,
    • Faculty members in other than tenure track,
    • Undergraduate students
    • Full Time Staff
    • Advanced degree students (MS or doctoral)
    • Team
    • Lifetime Achievement

    Selected awardees will receive recognition at the Excellence in Public Engagement Reception on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the Alumni Center from 4- 6pm.

    Nominations, including self-nominations, are due to the Office of Public Engagement by Monday, October 2, 2017.
