UCAELI is seeking volunteers to meet with international English language students during the summer session. Our Conversation Partner program aims to help build the English spoken interaction skills of our adult learners.
Conversation Partner volunteers visit our Commuication Skills classes on Fridays and engage students in discussions or activities planned by the instructors. This is an excellent opportunity to meet people from other cultures, hear their points of view, and share your best advice for adjusting to college life. No teaching experience is necessary; an interest in an international community and spoken proficiency in English are all that are required!
UCAELI Conversation Partner Program details:
When: Fridays from 10-11am beginning on July 7th and running through August 4th. Conversation Partners are also invited to join our graduation lunch on August 11th.
Where: UCAELI classrooms on the Storrs campus. Room assignments will be sent out following the completion of an application (see below).
