UConn Voice and Opera: Opera Scenes (UConn Opera Studio)
On behalf of UConn Voice and Opera, UConn’s Opera Studio group will be performing at the von der Mehden Recital Hall on Friday, April 28, beginning at 8:00 pm. This talented collective of experienced UConn vocal students will put their immense talents on display, as they amalgamate contemporary opera pieces with story and dialogue-driven operettas. Through the concert’s blending of interesting musical mediums and its utilization of prominent American operas, such as Leonard Bernstein’s Candide or Kurt Weill’s One Touch of Venus musical, even the most casual of concertgoers will be fascinated by such instantly recognizable classics and the distinctively interactive performance style the concert employs.
Admission is free for all. UConn’s von der Mehden Recital Hall is located at 875 Coventry Rd in Storrs, straight across from Mirror Lake. Plenty of free, well-lit parking is available just across the street.
