Health, Wellness, and Safety

  • UCOUNT - Participate in the Student Health Survey

The 2017 National College Health Assessment (NCHA) will be conducted from April 3rd through April 14th. During this time, 12,000 randomly selected Storrs undergraduate and graduate students will be invited to participate. Those invited will receive an email directly from NCHA.

Participating students will be entered into a random drawing for one of twenty-one Amazon gift cards (one $200 gift card and twenty $20 gift cards.) Chances of winning depend upon the number of students who respond to the survey.

The confidential online survey is sponsored by Student Health Services, Counseling & Mental Health Services and Wellness & Prevention Services. The survey was last conducted at UConn during the spring semester of 2014.

More than 300 colleges and universities nationwide utilize the survey that contains questions about alcohol and drug use, sexual and mental health, weight and nutrition, and personal safety and violence.  The survey is designed to maintain user confidentiality. Answers cannot be traced back to an individual participant. Students can answer honestly and safely without their confidentiality ever being at risk. The information gathered will be used to identify and prioritize health, counseling and wellness initiatives at UConn.
