    Principal Investigator: Kari Adamsons, Ph.D.

    Student: Isabella Randazzo

Title of Study: Perceptions of Sexuality, Consent, and Sexual Assault Among College Students

You are invited to participate in this survey regarding beliefs about sexuality, consent, and rape/sexual assault. I am an undergraduate student at the University of Connecticut, and am conducting this survey as part of my course work towards an honors thesis. I am interested in finding out how UConn students respond to common beliefs about sexual behavior, consent, and rape/sexual assault.

Your participation in this study will require completion of the following survey:

    https://uconn.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9t9fiCaGaXd7kDb

This survey should take approximately ten to fifteen minutes of your time. Your participation will be anonymous and you will not be contacted again in the future. You will not be paid for being in this study. This survey should involve minimal risk to you, although the questions in this survey involve the topics of rape and sexual assault, and so if you have previously experienced sexual assault, the questions in this survey may trigger unpleasant memories or feelings. If you take this survey and experience such feelings, we recommend seeking assistance from one of many available resources, including UConn Counseling and Mental Health Services (860-486-4705), the Humphrey Clinic for Individual, Couple, and Family Therapy (860-486-3692), Hartford Hospital Institute of Living (860-545-7841), the UConn Stronger support group for victim-survivors (860-486-4705), or the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800-656-HOPE). In terms of benefits, you might find it interesting to participate in this study and to explore and express your beliefs on these topics, but there will be no direct or financial benefit to you from your participation.

You do not have to be in this study if you do not want to be and you can refuse to any questions that you do not want to answer. I will be happy to answer any questions you have about this study. If you have further questions about this project or if you have a research-related problem, you may contact me, Isabella Randazzo at (860) 287-2820 or by email at isabella.randazzo@uconn.edu, or my advisor and the study’s Principle Investigator, Kari Adamsons, Ph.D., at (860) 486-8971 or by email at kari.adamsons@uconn.edu. If you have any questions about your rights as a research participant you may contact the University of Connecticut Institutional Review Board (IRB) at 860-486-8802.  The IRB is a group of people who review research studies to protect the rights and welfare of research participants.

Please complete the survey and submit it by April 1st at 11:59pm, as the link will close at that time. Thank you for your interest and participation!
