  • 3/4 CT Horse Symposium-Clinic spots still open

    The CT Horse Symposium will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 and Sunday March 5, 2017 at the Horsebarn Hill Arena at the Storrs campus.  On Saturday, the Caroline Mercier Clinic focusing on Flat Work, Poles and Jumps will run from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. The Flat Work with Poles and Jumps session at 11 is full, so please choose another session to actively participate in. It is open to all riders who have hunt seat experience, you can bring your horse (equine health form and a 3 day temperature log needed) or ride a UConn horse with sufficient experience. Spectators also welcome!!

    Also on Saturday there will be a Susan Bartfay Clinc on Communication with your Horse or Other Animal Friend from 1:00 p.m. -4:00 p.m. There must be 16 participants for the clinic to take place. It costs $20 to participate. We are looking for participants!

    The  Jeff Morse Clinic on Improving Your Driving will take place also from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., he will focus on ways to improve your driving, you can bring your horse (equine health form and a 3 day temperature log needed) or ride a UConn horse with horse handling experience. Driving experience not required. Spectators also welcome!!

     

    Vendor and Camp Fairs begin at 8:30 a.m. and take place all day in the Horsebarn Hill Arena.  Find out about equine businesses in the area. Families and students can check out equine day and weeklong camps for participation/employment opportunities.

     

    On Sunday from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.  there will be a Hands On Horse Science Day, a UConn Dressage Team Demonstration at 12 p.m., and a Men's Polo Match at 1 p.m.!

     

    $30 Active Participation - Ride or Drive in a Session for UConn students

    $20 additional, use a UConn Horse

    $10 day All Day Auditor Pass for UConn students
