The Gerson Irish Reader 2013 is Man Booker Prizewinner Anne Enright. The event will open with a short reading by Belinda McKeon and will close with a talk by esteemed novelist Colm Tóibín. The theme of "Mother and Daughter” commemorates the late Irish Times literary editor Caroline Walsh and her mother, Mary Lavin, UConn's first writer-in-residence. Walsh's planned 2012 Gerson talk to commemorate Lavin’s centenary was cancelled in the wake of her untimely death. Introduction by James Ryan, former Gerson Reader and Walsh's spouse.
7pm on April 16 at the Konover, UConn Storrs
