  • Openings in SPAN 3233 (Origins of Lat. Am. Lit.)

    There is still plenty of room for students in SPAN 3233 (Latin American Literature: The Formative Years). The class meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:10am to 11:00am in Oak Hall 267. The course explores the origins and development of Latin American literature from the time of the Spanish conquest to the post-Independence period and the consolidation of the nation states. Special focus on the role of literature in the shaping of perceptions about indigenous peoples, slaves, gauchos and immigrants. Spanish majors, minors and students interested in Latin American culture and literature are encourage to enroll.
