  • 1/16 Dr. King Jr. Day Celebration Volunteers Needed

Martin Luther King Day commemorates the birthday of American civil rights leader Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and celebrates his life, achievements and legacy. This year’s theme is “Be the Change, Reach the Dream: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow”. Volunteering at the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration is great a way to get involved in bringing diverse and socially aware programming to the UCONN community. Please consider volunteering at this annual Celebration happening on Monday, January 16th, 2017 in the Jorgensen Center.  Volunteers play a crucial role in the success of this annual event put on the African American Cultural Center and a handful of co-sponsor offices on campus. If you are interested, please fill out the google form below which also has the logistical information surrounding time commitment and duties.

Volunteers will be helping with the set-up and breakdown of the event. We appreciate your interest and commitment to furthering Dr. King’s Legacy year after year. All volunteers receive a free celebration day t-shirt and premier seating as a token of our gratitude. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me and I would be happy to get you any answers you need.
