  • 12/8 Aria/Concerto Symphony Concert

    The UConn Symphony Orchestra presents the Aria/Concerto Competition Winners Concert. Harvey Felder, director. 8PM, von der Mehden Recital Hall.

     

    For one night only, see Aria/Concerto Competition winners Tiana Piscitelli, viola and Anthony Leathem, bass- baritone perform in concert. Piscitelli will perform Max Bruch’s melancholy “Romance for Viola and Orchestra” while Leathem will perform “Vecchia zimarra, senti” from La Boheme and “Il lacerato spirito” from Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra. The evening will also include Daron Hagen’s fast paced “Suddenly” and will conclude with Robert Schumann’s beloved “Symphony No. 4 in D minor, Op. 120”. The performance will be held at the von der Mehden Recital Hall, 175 Coventry Rd., Storrs on December 8th. General admission is $10. Students and children are free. Plenty of free, well-lit parking across the street.
