  • 12/11 A Festival of Lessons & Carols for Advent

Keep Your Lamps Trimmed and Burning:  A Festival of Lessons and Carols for Advent
    Sunday, December 11, 3:00 pm
at the Storrs Congregational Church (Corner of Route 195 & North Eagleville Rd.)

The combined voices of Storrs Congregational Church UCC, St. Mark's Episcopal Chapel, and St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Chapel will join together observing the rich depth of the pre-Christmas season of Advent, with its themes of waiting and watching, longing and lamenting, trusting and hoping.

Shaped in the traditions of the famous Festival of Lessons and Carols celebrated at King's College, Cambridge, yet adapted for the season of Advent rather than Christmas Eve, this service includes an amazing tapestry of music, readings from scriptures, and times for prayer and meditation... a great opportunity for a pause of centering and grounding leading into the pressures of finals week.

We invite you to share in this wonderful tradition of music and readings and make it a part of your Advent journey.

The Storrs Congregational Church UCC, St. Mark's Episcopal Chapel, and St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel are all members of the Area Association of Religious Communities (AARC), UConn's officially recognized roundtable of religious organizations serving the UConn community.
