  • 12/6 Symphonic Band presents: Bookmarks from the World

UConn Symphonic Band Performs Bookmarks from the World. Dr. David Mills, conductor. 8PM, von der Mehden Recital Hall.

On the last week of the semester, come experience the wonder of Bookmarks from the World. The orchestral delight will begin with Pierre Leeman’s whimsical “March of the Belgian Paratroopers”, Percy Grainger’s solom “Australian Up-Country Theme” and the more upbeat “Molly on the Shore”, and Morton Gould’s “Santa Fe Saga”. After a brief intermission, the Symphonic Band will return with the featured work: “Bookmarks from Japan”, a six-movement piece by Emmy Award winning composer Julie Giroux. The performance will be held at the von der Mehden Recital Hall, 175 Coventry Rd., Storrs on December 6th. General admission is $10. Students and children are free. Plenty of free, well-lit parking across the street.
