  • 11/1 Gender Watch Party

In a society where media is the most persuasive force shaping cultural norms, the collective message we receive is that a woman’s value and power lie in her appearance, and not in her capacity as a leader. Despite great strides over the past few decades, the limited and often disparaging portrayals of women and girls in the media makes it difficult for women to feel powerful and to achieve equitable representation in various positions of power and influence in America.

Join us for some media viewing and an interactive discussion about how gender influences political strategy, voter engagement and expectations, media coverage, and how we can effect positive change.

    Tuesday, 6pm, Women’s Center
