Please join us on Saturday, October 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Keller Auditorium at UConn Health for the 2nd Annual National Health Disparities Elimination Summit, “Living in America Today: Transforming Environments to Eliminate Health Disparities.”
The summit will feature a series of interactive panel discussions aimed to incite active discussions and develop action items on how leaders and summit attendees can deploy change in their communities.
Presented by the Connecticut Institute for Clinical and Translational Science (CICATS) at UConn in collaboration with the W. Montague Cobb/NMA Health Institute and with support from the Connecticut Legislative Black and Puerto Rican Caucus, the summit’s program will focus on how some physical, healthcare and social environments may create or exacerbate health disparities, especially in African-American and Latino communities.
Hear leading experts from Connecticut and across the US discuss physical, health care and societal environmental issues including the water crisis in Flint, MI, if gun violence should be classified as a public health issue, and the impact diversity may play in patient outcomes.
Continuing Medical Education and Continuing Education credits will be offered.
