Human Resources and Benefits

  • LEARNING@WORK- a New HR Training Management System

The Department of Human Resources is pleased to announce the launch of the University’s new training management system, Learning@Work.  The Learning@Work technology will greatly improve the university’s ability to schedule, launch, track and manage employee training programs including compliance training, job-skills training and other employee professional development programs.

Initially, Learning@Work will be utilized solely for required employee training programs such as those offered by the Office of Audit, Compliance and Ethics, Office of Institutional Equity, and Department of Environmental Health and Safety. One key feature of the new system is that all employees will be able to self-register online for available work-related courses and maintain a record of completed learning events, accessible online, 24/7.  Managers, proxies and training content owners will also be able to centrally access required employee training records, which will greatly improve their ability to track, manage, and report on required training data.

Following the launch of the university’s required training programs the implementation of the Learning@Work system will enable Human Resources to assign curriculum to groups of employees based on their specific responsibilities.  The system can also be used improve the onboarding experience for new employees who, within the first few days on the job, will be provided access to a prescribed set of required job-skills training, compliance training and safety training courses that will facilitate their ability to quickly become productive on the job.

The first significant program launched in Learning@Work is mandatory compliance training for graduate assistants, and we will continue to communicate to the campus community as more training programs are added.
