• A free, pop-up library for local children. Don’t miss your chance to build a free library at Boogie for Books and distribute the books during United Way Day of Action on June 21st. Join ELS as we partner with End Hunger Connecticut for a Meet-Up and Eat Up Block Party event in East Hartford (New Covenant United Methodist Church, 16 Church St, East Hartford, CT 06108) that will raise awareness about access to summer meals and help prevent summer learning loss. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to facilitate educational activities for children at the summer meal site and provide them with access to the books from our pop-up library!
• United Way Community Investment, which supports opportunities that ensure children enter 4th grade reading at grade-level and stay on track to graduate high school college and career-ready.
