UConn Opera Theater presents Johann Strauss II’s Die Fledermaus on Friday, April 15th at 7:30pm and Sunday, April 17th at 3:00pm at the von der Mehden Recital Hall on the University of Connecticut Storrs Campus.
In this hilarious operetta, we find Herr Eisenstein engulfed in an elaborate, vengeful prank by his college friend Dr. Falke. Following a legal mishap due to his bumbling attorney, Eisenstein finds himself in trouble with the law. Eager to delay his incarceration, a disguised Eisenstein accompanies Falke to a ball at the infamous Prince Orlofsky’s mansion where he unexpectedly meets his wife, Rosalinda, and maid, Adele, also concealing their true identities. Meanwhile, the warden Frank has mistakenly detained Alfred, Rosalinda’s former lover, believing him to be Eisenstein. You’ll have to join us for the performances to see how this mess unfolds!
