  • 4/21 Active Threat/Active Shooter Training - Hartford

    UConn Hartford Faculty and Staff are strongly encouraged to attend one of the training sessions offered.

    This program focuses on the phenomena of active threats in our society with a focus on mass shootings and response. The program strives to explain and embed a survival mindset in participants. It includes emergency notification on campus, definitions of threats, behaviors of concern, building a survival mindset, preparation and rehearsal techniques, options for responding, understanding police response to active threat scenarios, and prevention techniques. Based upon ‘Shots Fired On Campus- When Lightning Strikes’by the Center for Personal Protection & Safety, this class features a video.

    A second training will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016,  1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., UG 126
