  • Human Subjects Requested

Healthy men and postmenopausal women between the ages of 40 and 70 are needed for a research study examining how statins and the dietary supplement creatine affect a person’s response to exercise. We are seeking individuals who do not regularly exercise, do not take medications or dietary supplements for high cholesterol, and do not use tobacco products. The 5 week protocol involves six visits to Hartford Hospital involving exercise tests on a treadmill and blood samples. Participants will be compensated $200 for their time and gain valuable health information. If you are interested, please contact Greg Panza at gregory.panza@hhchealth.org or (860) 972-1507.

This protocol has been approved by the Hartford HealthCare IRB and permission to recruit at UConn has been obtained from the UConn IRB.
