    UConn Spring Valley Student Farm – Friday Volunteer Time Continues!

    Please join us at the Farm on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 4-6 PM as we continue our spring festivities! Have fun planting seeds both in the green house and out in the field (weather permitting), exploring our Edible Forest Garden, and helping with other important spring projects. Remember to dress for outdoor conditions including warm water-repellant footwear.

    Transportation is provided. The shuttle vans leave and return from east campus behind Whitney Dining Hall. Shuttle pickup is at 4:00 and returns on campus at 6:15.

    If you can’t join us this week keep in mind that Farm Friday continues every Friday from 4-6 through Friday, April 29, 2016.

    The farm is home to 11 students who grow an amazing variety of vegetables and herbs served at Chuck and Augie’s restaurant and 1 Plate 2 Plate in the Student Union and at select dining halls. The produce will also be for sale at the Farm Fresh Market in the garden behind the Benton Museum on Thursdays from 11:00 to 1:30 beginning Thursday, May 19, 2016.

    Spring Valley Student Farm is collaboration with Dining Services, Residential Life, EcoHouse as part of First Year Programs and Learning Communities, the College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources, Office of Environmental Policy,  Facilities Operations and Building Services, Office of Public Engagement – Service Learning and Counseling and Mental Health Services.

    You can find us at 104 Spring Manor Road, Mansfield, CT, 06268 just off Route 32 north of the Route 44 intersection. Turn at the big blue UConn Spring Manor Farm sign.
