  • 2/14 Themes Thru Time: Classical to Comtemporary

    UConn Department of Music and Voice Area presents their Spring 2016 Songfest, Themes Through Time: Classical to Contemporary on Sunday, February 14th at 5:00pm at von der Mehden Recital Hall at the University of Connecticut Storrs Campus.

     

    Each singer will perform one "classical" selection and one "contemporary" selection connected by a common theme. The music includes Weill and The Weeknd, Tosti and The Righteous Brothers, Brahms and Christina Perri, Obradors and The Four Tops, Donaudy and Jason Robert Brown, Puccini and Rodgers, Mozart and Sondheim, and more performed by undergraduate and graduate students from UConn's Voice Area. For the contemporary pieces, our singers will be joined by a jazz combo comprised of instrumentalists also from the UConn Music Program, comprised of Matt Chiu (piano), Andrew Wynsen (piano), Nate Giordano (bass), and Steven McArdle (drums).


    Themes Through Time: Classical to Contemporary will take place Saturday, February 14th at 5:00pm at von der Mehden Recital Hall on the UConn Storrs Campus. Admission for this event is free. Free parking will also be available in the lot immediately adjacent to von der Mehden. We hope to see you there!
