  • 2/13 Museum Hands-On Kids Archaeology Workshop

The Connecticut State Museum of Natural History, part of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at UConn presents Archaeology On Location—Interpreting the Clues. This kids activity will take place on Saturday, February 13, 10 am to 11:30 am and will be lead by Heather Alexson, Outreach Chairperson, Friends of the Office of State Archaeology (FOSA).

Archaeologists dig for clues, but each artifact tells only a part of the story. Learn how to interpret the different types of clues found on a mock archaeology site. We will put our critical thinking skills to use through inductive reasoning, hypothesizing, and evaluation to uncover the truth and the story of our 'site'. This is a dirt-free classroom activity.

The program fee is $15, $10 for Museum members. Advance registration is required. This program is for children ages 8 -12. For further information visit http://www.cac.uconn.edu/mnhcurrentcalendar.html or call 860.486.4460.
