  • Stress Reduction Study: participants sought

Dr. Melissa Root is seeking volunteers for a stress reduction study for parents of children with developmental disabilities. This research is being done at UConn Health in Farmington through UConn’s AJ Pappanikou Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. You will listen to 20-minute relaxation and guided imagery (RGI) recordings daily for 6 weeks to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression and improve sleep quality.

You must be a parent of a child with a developmental disability, have access to a smart phone, understand English, be willing to commit 20 minutes per day for 6 weeks to listen to recordings, and be able to attend two 2-hour meetings where you will fill out questionnaires on feelings of stress, depression, anxiety, and sleep quality. The two meetings will be held in Farmington, Connecticut and the remainder of the study will be completed on your own at your own preferred location.
