I got a lot out of working here and it only seemed right, when given an opportunity, to give something back. “I give to the Close to Home Campaign –Faculty/Staff Scholarship Fund because it is my way of paying back. I was a first generation college student when I attended college and I must say that I am very proud of that. I am one of six children so the financial resources were very tight when I was attending college. I was very fortunate to have received scholarships that helped defray the cost. I am thankful to the people who gave to the scholarship fund in which I was able to be awarded. It gave me a great feeling that people had the confidence in me to succeed.
This is why I give. I want another student to have the same opportunity and sense of pride that they can achieve the goal they are aiming for.”
