  • 11/5 Faculty Forum: Climate Change & Resilience

We invite you to attend the Connecticut Institute for Resilience and Climate Adaptation's (CIRCA) faculty forum on climate change resilience and adaptation in Connecticut on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM in room 304 in the Student Union.

CIRCA is a partnership between the University of Connecticut and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection created a little over a year ago. The Institute seeks to engage the multi-disciplinary expertise within the university to further the resilience and sustainability of vulnerable communities along Connecticut's coast and inland waterways to the growing impacts of climate change on the natural, built, and human environment.

This event will feature presentations by faculty engaged in research and developing strategies and initiatives to address, and build resilience to, the impacts of climate change, as well as describe future funding availability through the Institute to engage additional faculty in such work. We will also showcase poster presentations from faculty across the University - all poster session entrants will be filmed for a feature resilience blog to be hosted on the CIRCA website!

A light breakfast will be provided from 8:00 - 8:30. Provost Mun Choi, Vice President for Research Jeff Seemann, and CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Commissioner Rob Klee will share remarks at 10:30.

To register, please RSVP to Jessica LeClair at jessica.leclair@uconn.edu.

A limited number of 12-minute faculty presentations will be scheduled between 8:30 and 10:30. If you are interested in speaking about how your research relates to climate change adaptation and resilience or presenting a poster, please let us know in your registration email.
