Brain Research Foundation Fay/Frank Seed Grant Program

The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) would like to announce that the Brain Research Foundation has invited the University to nominate one faculty member to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) for the Fay/Frank Seed Grant Program.

Brain Research Foundation’s Annual Seed Grant Program was initiated in 1981. The purpose of the program is to provide start-up monies for new research projects in the field of neuroscience that will likely lead to extramural funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) or other outside funding sources.  The BRF Seed Grant Program supports new and innovative projects, especially those of junior faculty, who are working in new research directions.  Each total award is limited to $80,000 (direct costs) for a two year grant period.

    Limited Submission

Because only one LOI can be submitted from UConn/UConn Health for this program, an internal screening process is required. If you are considering submitting an LOI for the BRF Seed Grant Program, an on-line Notification of Intent to Submit must be completed by the requested Intent to Submit Deadline.

Investigators are asked to submit pre-proposals for the internal screening process as per the Guidelines by the requested Internal Screening Deadline. Be sure to check the Guidelines for updates.  Pre-proposals not adhering to these guidelines and instructions will be returned.
