October 26 (11:59pm), 2015 is the last day students can applications for nomination for the prestigious Truman Scholarship!
The Truman Scholarship awards $30,000 for graduate study. Candidates apply as undergraduates in their JUNIOR year. This award is intended for high-achieving students who are committed to future careers in public service and must demonstrate their commitment through targeted academic interests, extracurriculars, internships and community service. Each university is permitted to nominate up to 4 candidates (plus additional transfer candidates) each year to compete at the national level.
All applicants will require an academic letter of recommendation (along with a letter attesting to their leadership abilities and another verifying their public service commitment).
After submitting their applications by 10/26/15, candidates will be reviewed by a faculty nominating committee who will interview finalists for nomination. Nominees will then work with the Office of National Scholarships & Fellowships to complete their national applications by February 2016.
