The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) would like to announce the reconvening and reconstitution of the University of Connecticut Laser Safety Committee (LSC). The LSC is the principal technical advisory body for all laser safety issues, and reports to the Vice President for Research (VPR). The University of Connecticut Laser Safety Program is based on the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z136.1 2014, Safe Use of Lasers, and any other pertinent standards, as well as other applicable federal and state regulations.
As part of this reconstitution, the LSC has established both a new charge and membership. It is expected that the first meeting of the reconstituted committee will be scheduled in the fall.
