  • Reminder: Retiree Health Care Fund Contributions

    Employees who are currently contributing 2% toward the Retiree Health Care Trust Fund will be required to begin contributing 3% effective the first full pay period after July 1, 2015 in accordance with the SEBAC 2011 Agreement. The 3% contribution will begin in paychecks dated August 7, 2015.

    The phased in contributions began at ½% in July 2013, increased to 2% in July 2014, and are increasing to 3% in July 2015.  The contributions will continue at 3% until the earlier of retirement or 10 years of contributions.

    Employees who leave state service before becoming eligible for retiree health coverage can request a refund of Retiree Health Fund contributions unless they are in the process of applying for a disability retirement benefit.

    Employees who leave state service after qualifying for retiree health coverage are not eligible for a refund of Retiree Health Fund contributions.
