Project: CT Early Childhood Regression Discontinuity Study

The Connecticut Early Childhood Regression Discontinuity Study (CT-ECRDS) is in need of two (2) summer, hourly-intermittent research assistants (RAs). Position dates are May 2015 - July 2015. There is a potential for additional summer employment, pending project needs and satisfactory performance.
POSITION #1: RESEARCH ASSISTANT - DATABASE DEVELOPER I
Duties of Position #1 (Research Assistant – Database Developer I)
Under the direction of Dr. Montrosse-Moorhead, the chosen RA will:
- Assist faculty members on the project to interface with early childhood sites to verify data.
- Revise database entries, as needed, based on feedback received from early childhood sites.
- Assist faculty members on the project to arrange for the transfer of revised data, as needed, based on feedback received from early childhood sites.
- Log changes made to databases as part of on-going documentation related to data cleaning and validation efforts.
- Log data transfers as part of on-going documentation related to data cleaning and validation efforts.
- Interface with study staff, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications for Position #1 (Position: Research Assistant – Database Developer I)
Preferred Qualifications for Position #1 (Position: Research Assistant – Database Developer I)
- Previous experience with PreK-12 schools (preferred).
Salary: $15.00 per hour, with a maximum spending cap of $2,000 for this position. We are also open to working with UConn students who would prefer to count this work, or a portion thereof, as part of a summer independent study or practicum course.

POSITION #2: RESEARCH ASSISTANT - DATABASE DEVELOPER II
Duties of Position #2 (Research Assistant – Database Developer II)
Under the direction of Dr. Montrosse-Moorhead, the chosen RA will:
- Assist faculty members on the project to identify potential data entry errors.
- Revise database entries, as needed, based on information from Research Assistant – Database Developer I.
- Log changes made to databases as part of on-going documentation related to data cleaning and validation efforts.
- Merge multiple datasets to create one, user-friendly database for the project.
- Create variables, as directed, by faculty members working on the project.
- Create a master codebook of variables included in final, user-friendly database for the project.
- Interface with study staff, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications for Position #2 (Research Assistant – Database Developer II)
Preferred Qualifications for Position #2 (Research Assistant – Database Developer II)
- Previous experience with PreK-12 schools (preferred).
Salary: $18.00 per hour, with a maximum spending cap of $2,000 for this position. We are also open to working with UConn students who would prefer to count this work, or a portion thereof, as part of a summer independent study or practicum course.
