A Message from your Employee Assistance Program

April is Alcohol Awareness Month and UConn’s EAP joins the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD) in striving to raise awareness about information and resources available to educate individual adults, teens, parents and families on this important health and wellness issue. Toward that end we are providing a number of recommended on-line resources aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle choices that support personal and family wellness.

This week check out “Re-thinking Drinking” at http://rethinkingdrinking.niaaa.nih.gov/, published by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA). This user-friendly website offers a wealth of information and self-directed tools to inform and support safe, responsible alcohol use. There are also resources for self-assessing personal levels of use, suggestions for those interested in moderating or reducing their drinking and options available to address concerns or problems. Use of the site is completely anonymous and private.

The UConn Employee Assistance Program provides confidential, free, professional consultation and brief counseling for faculty, staff and eligible family members to help identify and resolve problems or concerns affecting you, your family or your job.
