    Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship – Fall 2015

    As a reminder, The Graduate School is has been made available to support a limited number of graduate students for a highly competitive Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship.  The fellowship is based on the rank ordering of eligible applicants by faculty in various program areas and is awarded in the amount of $2,000 to each eligible applicant. 

    To be eligible for the fellowship, an applicant must (1) certify that his/her total personal income will not exceed $33,500 during the twelve-month period of July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016; (2) must document satisfactory completion of the General Examination prior to 4:00 pm on April 30, 2015; (3) submit his/her Dissertation Proposal (ready for full approval and include full and current IRB or IACUC approval for the use of any human and/or animal subjects involved in the research or SCRO approval for the use of any human stem cell) to the Records Division of The Graduate School before 4:00 pm on April 30, 2015; and (4) must certify that he/she will not defend his/her dissertation prior to March 1, 2016.

    To apply, an applicant must fill out the Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship application found on The Graduate School’s website at http://grad.uconn.edu/financial-resources/internal-funding-opportunities/semi-annual-doctoral-dissertation-fellowship-program/ and submit it to The Graduate School by 4:00 pm on April 30, 2015.   Unfortunately, the award can only be awarded to an individual once and doctoral students based at the University’s Health Center and Law School are not eligible to apply.  Applications submitted after April 30 will not be eligible for consideration.

    A committee will review and select the potential awardees.  Notifications will be e-mailed to each applicant who applied regardless of their acceptance or denial of the fellowship.
