  • Do You Know Where Your Phone Comes From?

Are you interested in how your phone can be traced from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)? Join the UNESCO Student Ambassadors for Human Rights (SAHR) on Wednesday, March 4th at 6:00 pm in the Dodd Center's Konover Auditorium for an informal informational workshop about coltan, a mineral found in a region of the world undergoing civil, labor, and gender conflict. This 'blood mineral' can be found in items you use everyday - your laptop, phone, etc. Learn about human right violations in the DRC and how it correlates with your everyday life.  You can also speak with current Ambassadors to find out about their work and having them present to your class or organization. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend!
