    In Search of Mandalas in the Himalayas

     

    Artist and experimental filmmaker Eva Lee presents her Fulbright research on 10th-12th c. Buddhist mandalas conducted in ancient Tibetan monasteries of Spiti, Lahaul, and Ladakh. Discussion of their aesthetic structure and sacred purpose, with photos and exclusive videos of temple interiors such as Tabo Monastery’s main temple, the famed Tsug Lhakhang, and others. Ms. Lee will screen her latest experimental film inspired by her travels and study of Buddhist philosophy.  Eva Lee lives and works in Ridgefield, Connecticut.
