    Principal Investigator: Frank Musiek, PhD
    Student Investigator: Jennifer Gonzalez, BA

You have been invited to participate in a hearing study conducted by the Neuroaudiology Lab at the University of Connecticut.

In order to participate you must be between 40 and 65 years of age and have either normal hearing or high-frequency sensorineural hearing loss. A brief hearing test will be conducted to verify your eligibility to participate.

Why are you doing this study?
The purpose of this study is to investigate how the brain processes sound in individuals with normal hearing and in individuals with high-frequency sensorineural hearing loss.

What will I have to do?
If you choose to participate in this study you will be asked to listen to a variety of sounds including speech sounds, beeps, and static noise.  You will be wearing insert earphones or other headphones during the testing process. For part of the study you will have small electrodes filled with a conductive cream placed on your scalp, forehead and earlobe.

    When would I participate?
The study will take about 2-2.5 hours to complete.  It will take place in the Arjona CSSERL Lab.

    Will I get paid?
Compensation will be provided to participants.
