Two W Teaching Orientations are happening before classes begin: Monday, January 13, 10-11:30am (online only) and Thursday, January 16, 2-4pm (in person only, on Storrs campus, with coffee and snacks).

After a brief overview of university-wide expectations for W courses, we'll discuss pragmatic strategies for making writing-intensive courses across the disciplines more engaging, effective, and inclusive. We'll also address generative AI in course design and teaching, as well as address whatever questions participants bring.
All faculty and staff who are teaching any course that involves writing are welcome to join us. This orientation is required for all graduate students who intend to teach or assist with a W course or lab.
