Word Learning in Children - Human Subjects Requested

Volunteers are needed to participate in a research study determining "Effects of Auditory & Visual Variability on Word Learning Abilities in Children With and Without Hearing Loss.”

We are looking for monolingual children between the ages of 15-24 months with normal hearing or with hearing loss to participate in a word learning study.  The study will take place over 9 sessions at the UConn Laboratory for Spoken Language Processing on the Storrs Campus.  The purpose of this research is to determine the effects of talker and visual variability on word learning for children under the age of 2.

Families will be compensated for their time/travel and children will receive trinkets at the end of each session.  In addition, all children will receive a free hearing screening.
