  • 1/31 Free Dance Lessons with UConn Swing & Blues

Interested in learning how to dance? UConn Swing & Blues teaches beginner-friendly dance lessons every Tuesday! Swing dance is a culmination of dance styles created by the African American dance community, originating from the Harlem Renaissance in 1920s New York City, encompassing everything from Charleston to Lindy Hop to Jive.

This week we'll be going over the basic steps of 6-count swing as well as some beginner blues steps.

Join us in person this week for our dance lessons! All levels of dance experience are welcome. We are an LGBTQ+ safe space.

The dance lessons are held on the second floor of the Storrs Congregational Church in the Parish House (2 N Eagleville Rd, Storrs, CT 06268).

    Swing Dancing Lesson: 7:30 pm
    Swing Social Dancing: 8:00 pm
    Blues Dancing Lesson: 8:30 pm
    Blues Social Dancing: 9:00 pm

We are also happy to announce that we are hosting a Valentines-Day-themed Dance Saturday, February 18, 2023.
