    Tuesday, October 25th from 10 am - 3 pm

Location- Rome Commons (South Campus), Community Room, lower level.

Have questions or concerns about getting the flu vaccine? Here’s what you need to know:

    • Flu vaccines do not cause flu. The flu vaccine contains an inactive form of the virus that cannot transmit infection. It can take a couple of weeks for the flu vaccine to provide protection so some people may get sick during this period but it is nota result of the vaccine.

    • It is best to get vaccinated by the end of October. However, vaccination after October and throughout the entirety of flu season can still provide protection during the peak of flu season!

    • Immunocompromised individuals and people with egg or other allergies can still receive a flu vaccine. Let your provider know about any medical conditions or allergies prior to vaccination, so they can chooseanappropriatevaccine for you or refer you to someone who can.

    • The flu vaccine does not protect again COVID-19.They are both caused by different viruses. However,COVID-19 booster doses will also be offeredat our flu vaccination clinics. Use the registration link above to reserve an appointment time and select whether you would like just the flu vaccine or both the flu vaccine and a COVID-19 booster

Thank you for keeping yourself and our community safe and healthy!
