  • 10/13 UConn Astronomy Association: Guest Alyssa Carson

Join us in this exciting guest speaker presentation by Alyssa Carson on October 13th from 6:30pm-7:30pm. Since a young age, Alyssa had her eyes to the sky and since then, has worked towards becoming an astronaut. In 2016, Alyssa was the youngest person to be accepted to the Advanced Possum Academy, which officially made her an astronaut trainee. At just 19 years old, she had seen 3 Space Shuttle Launches, had attended NASA space camps 7 times, Space Academy 3 times, and in 2013, was even invited by NASA to be on the MER 10 panel in Washington DC to discuss missions to Mars. She is also the author of "So You Want to Be an Astronaut", a bestseller published in 2018. She is currently a senior studying Astrobiology at the Florida Institute of Technology.

The UConn Astronomy Association is ecstatic that Alyssa will be speaking to us and look forward to her virtual visit!
