Special Events and Receptions

  • 9/24 Celebrate National Recovery Month This Saturday

September is National Recovery Month. If you are supporting a loved one in recovery (or if you are in recovery yourself), we honor you! Recovery is for everyone – every person, every family, every community. Every action, no matter the effort, is serving to create a more supportive environment for students in recovery from substance use disorders and/or mental and behavioral health challenges. The goal throughout September is to come together, celebrate individuals in recovery and offer hope to those who are struggling. Recovery Month reinforces the positive messages that behavioral health is essential to overall health, prevention works, treatment is effective, and people can and do recover. The 2022 Recovery Month theme, “Recovery is For Everyone: Every Person, Every Family, Every Community,” reminds people in recovery and those who support them that no one is alone in the journey through recovery. Everyone's journey is different, but we are all in this together.

Please consider joining Student Health and Wellness' UConn Recovery Community at the Recovery Walks! celebrating this Saturday in Bushnell Park. More information can be found here: https://ccar.us/events/recovery-walk/
