  • Support Following the Uvalde Shooting

Last week was difficult as each of us viewed coverage of the horror that unfolded in Uvalde, Texas. Coming just ten days following the senseless shooting in a Buffalo supermarket was particularly numbing.

An array of emotions, from sadness and grief to uncertainty for our own safety as we go about the normal activities of the day, are not uncommon. While impossible to make sense of events such as these, it is important to know that there is help available. The EAP has heard from employees as they struggle to manage their own upset, but also requesting help with how to talk to their children.

We encourage you to visit our website where we’ve posted resources to help https://health.uconn.edu/occupational-environmental/employee-assistance-program/

Employees and family members requiring support may contact the EAP @x2877 or by email uchc_eap@uchc.edu
