  • Passing of Student, Andhy Rodriguez

    We are saddened to share that the University has experienced the loss of a student. Andhy Rodriguez passed away on February 1, 2022. He was a first year, Stamford campus student from Norwalk, Connecticut was studying Computer Science and Engineering. While at UConn, he was a member of the Video Game Club and the Table Top club.

    At this point in time, service information is not available. Condolences to Andhy’s family can be sent to the Dean of Students Office, 233 Glenbrook Road, Unit-4062, Storrs, Connecticut 06269-4062.

    The loss of a classmate is never easy and we acknowledge that people experience many emotions as we navigate the passing of a valued member of the UConn community. This is a difficult time for the University, and we write today to remind you of the resources available to you and encourage you to reach out if needed.

    The Stamford Campus Mental Health Resource Center is available to provide support to the students who may be struggling.  To make an appointment with a Clinical Case Manager call 203-251-9597 or email stamfordmhrc@uconn.edu to request a meeting. In addition, information about managing grief is located on the SHaW-Mental Health website.  If you need help more immediately, resources can be accessed here.

    This is a difficult time for the campus community and Andhy’s family.  Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Andhy’s family and friends during this time of loss.
