  • CT eHealth Podcast Launches

    The UConn Health Interoperability, Innovation and Learning Lab launches new podcast CT eHealth Podcast: Educating, Conversing and Connecting for Better Health hosted by Dr. Thomas Agresta

    Farmington, CT 2/2/22 - The Health Interoperability, Innovation and Learning Lab at UConn Health, in collaboration with Connie, Connecticut's designated Health Information Exchange, is pleased to announce the launch of a new podcast series. The CT eHealth Podcast discusses health information in Connecticut, focusing on educating, conversing, and connecting with local and national experts, key stakeholders, and other individuals in the area of eHealth. The podcast is geared towards providers, patients, caregivers, policymakers, payers and eHealth consumers. 

    The podcast began airing on 11/23/21, and four episodes have been released thus far. The most recent episode features Vicki Veltri, Executive Director of the Connecticut Office of Health Strategy (OHS). In this episode, Director Veltri discusses the role of OHS and how CT's statewide HIE (Connie) will aid OHS in meeting its mission and improving the health of Connecticut citizens. Episodes range between 25-60 minutes in length, and new episodes will be released every 2-3 weeks. Future guests include CT healthcare system CMIOs (Chief Medical Information Officers) and CEOs, state government and community health center leaders, and patient advocates.

    "The podcast series allows us to have in-depth and interesting conversations about the real-time experiences and needs of our state's clinicians, citizens, healthcare organizations and governmental agencies as they navigate and offer advice on ways healthcare data interoperability can improve outcomes in a secure, privacy-protected manner," says Dr. Agresta.
